Tara Dennis Hot Potshot pots

A can of paint can do wonders to update just about anything and I love how these orange concrete pots look smart and modern.

Make sure your plant pots are relatively clean and more importantly dry before you begin. If you’re jazzing up old concrete, stone or terracotta, clean out the old soil and give them a scrub with a dry nylon brush, inside and out.

On new ‘porous’ pots it’s worth sealing the insides sealer from the hardware, this helps to keep the water from seeping through. Just ask which one is suitable for your application.

As for paint, just grab one suited for outdoor use such as Dulux Weathershield. I like low sheen but glossy pots can look amazing too. For a juicy orange like this one, try Dulux Play School, it’s not too sharp but contrasts well with green foliage.
