Sideboard Makeover

sideboard makeover

I've always loved the beach inspired look for furniture and after recently pricing a new and very similar side-board to this at around $1500, I was determined to put my creative spirit into action.

I often use Porters Wood Wash to achieve a soft, limed effect on timber. It's easy to apply, you just need to make sure you sand the piece well to begin with - down to bare timber and always apply the Wash in the direction of the grain.

I finished the side-board with two coats of Porters Acrylic Sealer - it gives a lovely low sheen and an extremely durable finish. With some new handles, this old girl certainly has a new lease on life!
