Rope Table Mats

Textured place mats are a terrific way to add natural style and elegance to your dinner table. In the shops you'll pay plenty for designer accessories like these, but make them yourself and you'll not only save a bundle but have heaps of fun along the way too
You will need:
Sisal rope
Hot glue gun
Round mdf table mat
Paper, pencil, scissors
How to:
1. Lay a large sheet of paper under the mdf table mat, draw around it and cut it out. Fold the paper circle in half, then in half again. Push the pencil tip through the centre point then place this onto the mat. Use the pencil to mark the centre.
2. Using the hot glue gun and rope, start at the centre on the pencil mark, then coil the rope around, gluing as you go.
3. Continue all the way to the edge then trim the rope and glue the end in place.
