Beach Towel Cushion

It's easy to turn a beach towel into a comfy cushion for your outdoor furniture and these ones don't even need any buttons or zips!

Here I made a 65cm cushion because it's nice and generous but if you prefer something smaller adjust the size according to the width of your towel.

You will need:

Beach or bath towels – around 65cm wide is ideal
Cushion inserts - 65cm x 65cm European size (see supplier and care notes)
Sewing machine (this is optional, you can hand sew these cushions)
Coordinating cotton thread, tape measure and pins

How to:

1. Fold the towel lengthwise into thirds to form a square 65cm x 65cm.

Adjust it so the opening is around the centre of the towel. Use pins to hold it together then sew down either side to secure.

2. Now you have a neat cushion cover you can put the insert inside.

3. Turn the cushion around so the opening sits at the back, then just sit back and relax!

Care notes:
These cushions are intended to be used for outdoor comfort and although towels are lightly absorbant, the polyester fibre cushion inserts are not waterproof. I do find however they are perfectly o.k. if you use them while wearing a lightly damp swim suit but it's best to avoid soaking them or leaving outdoors in the rain.
Supplier notes: Cushion inserts available from stores including Target, Myer, Spotlight and Lincraft
