Gilded Twigs and Leaves

It's not always convenient to have fresh flowers for the house, so if you're entertaining and in need of a quick and festive display, start by heading out to the garden for a big bunch of twigs and leaves. Gum leaves look fantastic but any robust type will work for this.

In your kit, try to always keep some spray paints – silver, white and gold are good colours to have, these things can be used year 'round for so many projects.

You will need:

Gold spray paint
Gum leaves
Tall sturdy vase
Baubles and beads (optional)

How to:

1. Lay the twigs out on newspaper, shake the spray can well and spray the leaves all over. In a few minutes they'll be dry and you can touch up any areas missed

2. If you're using a glass vase, lay a strand of fancy beads in the bottom before arranging the stems. For Christmas, hang baubles either in a matching or contrasting colour
