Sunrise Christmas table setting
This is the ultimate easy Christmas table setting, it looks a million dollars - but the best part is, there’s no washing up!
Sitting around a beautiful table, enjoying Christmas dinner is one of the highlights of the day…..unfortunately washing up afterwards is not. So if you want to eat and then relax this Christmas, it’s easy to still have a stunning table setting, but with absolutely no washing up to do afterwards. Even better, everything from this setting can be found from your local supermarket.
A quick trip down the party-ware aisle and you can find all you need for a festive feast. Disposable plates, drinkware, cloths and cutlery never looked so good.
For my table this year I’ve created a beautiful, fresh look of white, blue, silver and gold and everything on the table is either made from recycled items, is able be recycled or can be re-used.
To create a stylish, no-fuss setting, start by covering your table with a white paper cloth then add a strip of colour down the middle with a length of Christmas gift wrap.
For this table, recycling really comes into its own with a clear bowl filled to the brim with beautiful baubles made from left-over Christmas cards.
Another idea for Christmas cards, as we all receive so many, is to quickly turn them into hurricane lanterns for tea-light candles.
Empty, clean glass wine bottles are elegant filled with drinking water.
For floral arrangements, it’s best to keep them low, so you can see across the table. Silver foil BBQ trays therefore make perfect vases and can be re-used again and again.
For place settings, use generously sized oval paper plates and white paper napkins for simplicity. Silver plated ‘plastic’ cutlery looks amazingly real with its shimmery finish while clear water tumblers, champagne flutes and wine goblets look the part, but won’t smash or need washing up.
Table angels made from paper plates are always a hit, but this year I’ve added another design to the family - Christmas Choir singers. They’re easy to make and you make them fun with photo cut-outs of your kid’s faces.
